Joanne
and Carolyn go back right to the start, being sisters, and sharing piano lessons
from an early age.
So it's no
surprise that they've come full circle and are now playing and singing together
again at the piano.
In their
teen years, they played in Youth Orchestras and Brass Bands,
and in later years played for shows such as Bugsy Malone,
Grease, Chicago, and more recently Little Shop of Horrors
and Return to the Forbidden Planet for The Christie Theatre Company.
In 1994
they went onto form the group "The Elastic Band",
which played well known songs of Blondie and The Beatles etc,
around the local pub circuit.
With a
change of line up, in 1996 they went on to form "Jem".
A five piece band, playing all the favourite party hits,
at venues such as Tatton Park, The Dean water Hotel,
The Yang Sing, Stockport County, and too many others to mention.
Continuing
to play with Jem, Carolyn and Joanne formed the duo Two's Company,
and have been warmly received during the last year playing for
Christie and Willow Wood fund raising events,
and hope to go on playing and enjoying the old standards to
the new mellow tones of Katie Melua and Norah Jones,
and just about anything they feel like, at the piano.
